Vintage Seiko Session ‘High Standard Version’ 8N41-5050 1989
In some cases Seiko marked specific models differently to point out they are higher-grade. This started in 1960 when they graded their dials "Special Dial" for example - and this is the case with this Vintage Seiko Session watch with Reference 8N41-5050 aswell, marked 'High Standard Version' and was priced accordingly back then! I'd say the tank style with really nice dial make this an underrated gem.
There is two main factors that made this was expensive model in 1989; the special case coating and the high-grade caliber.
- The 8N41 movement was a high-grade caliber used also in Seiko Dolce with ±20 seconds/year accuracy.
- The case is specified as TGP-MCAO - This means the case has a gold plated bezel and cobalt hard alloy combined.
This Seiko Session is in great shape, minor damages on crown and caseback but the case and bracelet are in really good, almost mint condition! Watch has been cleaned and received a fresh battery.
This is model SATG013 costing ¥44,000 in 1990!
